I’ve acquired an unhealthy fascination for snowboarding…but I didn’t get to do it as much since I lived in a tropical country for the past 2 years. Now that I am finally in a location close enough to good snowy mountains I am hoping to remedy the situation and get better. Fingers crossed on being able to smoothly go down the mountain!

Also my obsession with traveling the globe has gotten the best of me. Since I’m in the Euro zone…I am hoping to cross more countries off the list of places I want to go. Now that it’s only a few hours flight instead of the half a day trips, it should be fairly easy to take some weekend trips this year. Hoping to see more of Europe while here, but one can never know…note to self try to figure out a job where it gives me more time up in the air.

My father was an expat so I am pretty used to moving. Think I’ve moved over 20 times in my life with my family (before I spun off on my own). My mother is an expert in moving since she’s done it so many times, and honestly my father would be in complete chaos or just not have any possessions except for his suits if my mother wasn’t there to take care of all the house hold items. Learning from that I’ve also become a savvy packer. I always vow to live like a monk and be able to move with just 2 suitcases…but that is never the case. Somehow I managed to acquire more stuff (isn’t it ALWAYS the case?). Nonetheless I am an expert is packing for travels. For a chick I am an unbelievably light packer and somehow manage to fit in more sh*t in my suitcase then it should fit.

Favorite Food:

  • 寿司
  • Gimbap
  • 焼肉
  • 飲茶
  • Budae-jjigae (or any jjigae for that matter)
  • すき焼き・しゃぶしゃぶ
  • Steak Frites
  • かき氷
  • Bingsu (especially love them in strawberry season)
  • お好み焼き・もんじゃ焼き
  • Carbonara (KGB makes a mean one!)
  • Anything Meaty
  • Almost all Seafood
  • etc…I think I’ll stop since it could go on a while…but basically anything Japanese and most Korean/Chinese foods plus French/Italian when KGB allows for it.

If it wasn’t for KGB I wouldn’t be cooking or baking as much. I realized that having someone who will be a guinea pig to the things I make is a benefit since nothing I ever make tastes that good to me. The unfortunate part is KGB thinks anything I make is good therefore it isn’t really helping me to improve my skills. Also sucks he isn’t too fond of spicy food so I can’t really practice my spicy dishes on a daily basis.

Current Obsessions:

  • Skin-care
  • Tea
  • Scones
  • Clothing/Shoes
  • Gelato

I am currently trying to find the best regimen for my skin now that I am no longer in a yearly humid country. London has been good to me but I am trying to find the best combination that works so I can finally remedy the damage Singapore has done to my skin. Enlarged pores…sun damage…excessive dryness…the list doth go on. At least my hair is no longer all frizzled and my face isn’t eternally oily from the hot humidity. The cool dry London weather is helping me pin point the bigger issue of inner dryness!

So it turns out I am too small most of the time for UK brand sizes. Therefore my options to buy any shoes or clothing here have dwindled…I was recommended to buy kids size but somehow that was more humiliating…and handbags since most of my leather items got moldy from the trip inside the cargo from Singapore to London.

Moral of the story : You really can’t own nice things in Singapore and remember to but items when you see them in  your size if you’re a small adult.

And of course Gelato. Although London isn’t the best weather for eating cold items outdoor during the winter days.
